The 5 Series™
Our 5 Series pickups utilize Tone Tuning Technology™ to mimic the frequency response of AlNiCo 5, the magnet alloy that is most closely associated with the classic Strat® tone. The 5 series pickups are our most open and transparent, giving that signature, glassy Strat quack in the in between positions and a nice, open response in the neck. 5 series pickups are featured across our line and are our primary choice for a classically Stratty tone. The 5 series pickups are available in a range of winding levels.

The 2 Series™
Our 2 series pickups utilize Tone Tuning Technology to mimic the frequency response of AlNiCo 2. AlNiCo 2 imparts a rounder response to the classic Strat sound, yielding a deeper tone and a juicied sounding quack in the in between positions. The 2 series makes a great middle pickup and is featured in many of our standard sets. The 2 series pickup is available in our standard wind, and other winding levels are available by special order.

The Fat 5 Series™
Our Fat 5™ approach is a departure from the traditional Strat tone. Take an AlNiCo 5 frequency response, but fatten it up to the point of saturation and you have a pickup that stretches a Stratty tone to a place that is impossible to get to using conventional pickup materials. The Fat 5 smooths off the rough edges and beefs up the response of the conventional tonality, yielding something we like to call “AlNiCo 5 on steroids”. At lower winds a Fat 5 can behave more like a conventional AlNiCo 5 with a light touch, but dig in and it responds with a reserve of power. At higher winds the Fat 5 starts to sound almost like a P90®, but still with that background of Strattiness. Lower wind Fat 5’s make a great bridge pickup and are featured in many or our Vintage Series Sets. The higher wind Fat Single is the featured middle pickup in our Signature Set. Other versions of the Fat 5 voicing include the SV5+ and the Fat Single Special (SFS).
