Controls Kit #1
Standard Wiring
This controls kit consists of 3 500k audio taper potentiometers and enables standard Strat® wiring with a master volume knob and two tone knobs. Tone knobs may be allocated a number of ways, but we recommend wiring the middle tone knob to the neck pickup and the 2nd tone knob to the bridge.

Controls Kit #1A
Standard Wiring
This controls kit consists of 2 500k audio taper potentiometers and an audio taper no load pot and enables standard Strat wiring with a master volume knob and two tone knobs. The audio taper no load pot is for the middle tone. We recommend wiring it to the neck and middle. This allows for minimal loading of the neck and middle pickups, and especially the “in between” 2 & 4 positions.

This controls kit consists of 1 250k linear taper no load and 2 500k audio taper potentiometers. Use the 2 500k pots as master volume and master tone and the 250k no load as a neck/bridge blend.

Use the push pots to actuate the Silent Splits and use one of the push/pull pots as the blend, and use the no load audio taper pot as the master tone.

Standard Wiring with 250k load
This controls kit consists of 3 250k audio taper potentiometers and enables standard Strat wiring with a master volume knob and two tone knobs. These are the “vintage spec” 250 k pots and typically run right around 250 k or a little under. With this kit, we like to dedicate a standard 250 k to the bridge tone and connect the no load 250 k tone to the neck and middle pickups. Use this kit for lower output single coil voiced pickups, or when you want to shave off a bit more high end.With most Zexcoil pickups, we recommend 500k potentiometers to minimize loading, but for our lower wind Underwound Series, the higher loading of 250k potentiometers may be desired. This controls kit consists of 1 500k audio taper push/push or push/pull, 1 500k 250k audio taper, and 1 250k audio taper no load potentiometer. Use the push pot to actuate the Silent Split™. Use the 500k pot for the middle tone. The 250k no load pot helps to balance the frequency response of the Convertible™ between normal and split modes. In normal mode, keep the tone pot at 10 to minimize loading. In split mode, kick in the 250k tone to appropriately load the lower output single coil mode.
