This is a demo of a range of classic tones with the Z-Core 5 Vintage Hot Set. Bridge: Z-Core 5 Vintage Hot Neck & Middle: Z-Core 5 Vintage All clips recorded on a Fender Princeton Reverb II set up clean. Pickup switch positions and effects used as indicated.
This is the Z-Core 5 Vintage Hot Set. Bridge: Z-Core 5 Vintage Hot Neck & Middle: Z-Core 5 Vintage Recorded on a vintage blackface Fender VibroChamp with the volume at 5. The microphones used were an AKG Perception and Sennheiser e906. Some subtle compression and reverb were added to the mix, but no equalization was used on the guitars.
This is the Z-Core 5 Vintage Hot Set. Bridge: Z-Core 5 Vintage Hot Neck & Middle: Z-Core 5 Vintage Rhythm guitars on left channel are position 2 (bridge/middle), right channel position 4 (neck/middle). Recorded on a vintage blackface Fender VibroChamp with the volume at 5. The microphones used were an AKG Perception and Sennheiser e906.

Description

The Z-Core 5 Vintage Hot Set is a step up in output from the Vintage Set. The neck and middle pickups are targeted at a vintage output, but more like those early/mid 60’s versions that were wound a little hotter. The bridge is pushing a more modern “boutique” output, with a few more winds over the original vintage designs to round out the attack and deliver more punch. It is compatible with conventional 250 kΩ controls. Use kit 6 with this set (or 10 if you want to add a blend pot) for a vintage control response.

Assembly Information

  • “Assembled Sets” are fully wired with pickups, controls, 5-way switch and capacitor and mounted on a cardboard template.

  • For a Loaded Pickguard with this set (fully wired with pickups, controls, 5-way switch and capacitor along with pickguard, knobs and switch tip of your choice), order here.

Controls Kit Assembly Information

  • Assembled sets are fully wired with controls, 5-way switch and capacitor mounted on a cardboard template.

  • Kits don’t include pickguards, knobs or a switch tip. For a Loaded Pickguard click here.

  • Sets are wired with Strat spacing. Please let us know if you have anything non-standard.

  • Pickups may take 10-15 days before ready for shipment.

    1. Lefties are considered special orders and may take up to 3 weeks before ready for shipment.

    2. Left-handed "Z-Core" pickups are only available from the Custom Shop. If you want this feature for a set, here is an option to add to your order. For the Z-Core 5 Vintage Hot Set you’ll need to select ‘Left for 3 pickups’.

    3. We have limited availability of left handed parts. Please contact us for left-handed loaded pickguards and assembled sets.

    4. Z-Series pickups have their covers potted on. Removal will void the warranty.

    5. Cover color choice is presented at checkout.

    6. All of our pickups are made to order and with fixed cover (pickups potted in their covers) Z-Series/Z-Core models, orders placed will be built with covers selected at checkout and color changes will be subject to a $10 restock fee, $25.00 for a set of three.

    7. USPS First Class International Postage is not available for orders over $400 USD. Only USPS Priority International or Priority Express International are available over $400 USD.
