The Fat Single (SFM) utilizes our Fat 5™ approach in a departure from the traditional Strat® tone. Take an AlNiCo 5 frequency response, but fatten it up to the point of saturation and you have a pickup that stretches a Stratty tone to a place that is impossible to get to using conventional pickup materials. The SFM smooths off the rough edges and beefs up the response of the conventional tonality, yielding something we like to call “AlNiCo 5 on steroids”.  Significantly hotter than the SV5+ and SFS, the SFM approaches the sound of a P90®, but still with that background of Strattiness and is wound to keep up with our Buckers as the middle pickup of choice in our Signature Set™.
